Relaxing
and serene. Honest and delightful. Quaint and rustic. Charming and
welcoming. This store brings new meaning to the words. This is truly one
of Eastern NC's hidden treasures. Just the atmosphere alone will draw
you in. IF you dream of a store where you're known by name and are
directed to exactly what you wish each time you go, where not knowing
what you want can be fun, where good conversation and kindness are on
the "to do" list each day, then I strongly suggest visiting this
wonderfully well kept secret as soon as possible. You won't regret it.
I visit 911 Restoration at least once a week and have been known to come
in twice a week on occasion. If I don't go for one of their many kinds
beer, then I go for one of their many varieties of hot tea! They have
great snacks, fabulous tea ware, and fantastic handmade jewelry. They
can order you just about any beer you want, and gift wrap it too!
There's so much more, but I can't give it all away. You'll have to go
see for yourselves! I hope you enjoy it as much as my husband and I do!

After a long day on the beach
playing bocce and downing coronas, everyone decided to go out for
dinner, but not before stopping by the "cool local beer store". Being
down east in such a small town with what appeared to be little to no
interest in craft brewed beer, I wasn't expecting very much. When I
walked through the door, Erica greeted us and turned my attention to the
treasure chest of brews she had in stock. WOW, such a cute little store,
with a far superior beer selection than any bar or restaurant in the
area. Sign-in the visitor log and receive friendly reminder emails on
up-coming events, tastings, and special offerings. 911 have a rotating
stock with special purchases made available, i.e. Arrogant Bastard
pre-order.
If you find yourself down around the Emerald Isle/Atlantic Beach area,
you should do your palate a favor and stop by 911 Restoration.

March 2009
With St. Patrick’s Day closing fast, many people turn their thoughts to all things Irish, and there are few things more Irish than a pint of beer or a cup of tea. With that in mind, those people looking for something new for their taste buds will want to head to Harrika’s Brew Haus and eclectic gifts in Cedar Point. There they can indulge in almost 200 varieties of beer and 36 varieties of tea.
Harrika’s, whose name comes from a combination of the first names of both Erika and Harry Worden, developed from the previous store 911 Restoration. The name for that came from the address (911 Cedar Point Blvd. on hwy 24 in Swansboro) and the fact that the store was a restoration project where the building was painstakingly renovated. This renovation has in turn provided the perfect place to have a brew and enjoy some snacks, or go shopping in one of the themed rooms for the perfect gift for someone.
Harrika’s Brew Haus grew naturally, as the restoration shop tended to lean more and more toward carrying a huge variety of beer and teas. Now even much of the merchandise is beverage themed, with special jewelry crafted from used artisanal bottles by artist Charles Albert, and upcoming pieces from local favorite DP Jewelers. For the teapot lover, there is an entire porch full of teapots of every kind.
Merchandise is great, but Harrika’s shines for those interested in a snack and something to drink. Stop by the Brew Haus to find the perfect brew during one of their six large annual tastings. The next will be held March 21, with a celebration of St. Patty’s including the Celtic band My Three Kilts, themed Irish teas and beer along with Irish foods.
If Irish beer doesn’t take your fancy, there is also the tea (the Chinese flower—a green tea blended with a variety of flowers—is very popular), and for that sweet tooth, there are also 26 varieties chocolates for all occasions, from a “bacon chocolate” perfect with beer to an Earl Grey chocolate for the perfect tea time.
So come down to quench that thirst, Wednesday through Saturday at Harrika’s Brew Haus and Eclectic Gifts. Grab a brew, sit on the outdoor patio, in the comfy back room, or even under the 200-year-old oak tree out front and let the restoration begin. For more information call 252-354-7911 or visit teaandbeer.com.
